Packers Head To Jerry’s World

By Sueli Loiola // @Su_firstavenger

On the last Thursday Night Football Game in September, we saw a dominant game by quarterback Aaron Rodgers and all the crew.

Rodgers has said that he’s very proud of the team during an interview and he should be.   The offensive production has increased which means that Rodgers is accurate and his receivers are  confident on the field.   In other words, the offense is ready, willing and able to make it happen.  Of course Rodgers and company work very hard on during the off and regular season, week in and week out. Since they work so hard, they’re a well oiled machine.  It’s hard to fail when you are a well oiled machine.

Packers Thrilling Victory

 By Sueli Loiola  // @Su_firstavenger
What a game ladies and gentlemen!  I suppose the Packers like to have some emotion and it doesn’t matter what time of the season it is.  All us Packer Fans clearly remember the last two seasons. The Packers tend to not have good starts to the regular season.  The season really gets started for the Packers after the fourth week.  It’s almost like the first games are an extended preseason.
After those first four games, something happens and the team gets stronger and more confident on the field.  All the players showed a sort of excitement, confidence and a different spirit during the game, training and the whole league.  I know that nobody in Lambeau stops believing in a victory before the game has finished.  And I believe that is what happened yesterday.

Welcome to the Family

The Green Bay Packers sign Ahmad Brooks. He’s 33 years old and an 11 year veteran of the NFL, certainly he’s at the top of his career. He has great experience as an outside linebacker. He’s very versatile and strong. The Packers have played against him in the past. For that reason, the team really know who this guy is.

Ahmad Brooks started his career with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2006. Then, he played for the San Francisco 49ers for nine years. He played 120/128 regular season, recorded 333 tackles, 51 ½ tackles, 11 forced fumbles and three interceptions, according to his total numbers during his eleven years in the league. As we can see, he’s definitely a strong player who can bring all his strength to the linebacker position. Can you all imagine how strong the defense can be this season? Imagine Nick Perry, Clay Matthews and now, Brooks. It’s such an amazing defense, right! At least, the fans can have some excitement about the team and why not, there is huge potential.

Highlights of the Preseason

By Sueli Loiola // @Su_firstavenger

It’s been great to see the Green Bay Packers back on the field. I’d say that this preseason seems very special for the teams and for the fans also. There’s a kind of excitement in the air. I’m not in Winsconsin, however, I don’t have any doubt about the proudness of the fans around Green Bay, and why not, the whole Winsconsin state.

Last year, the Packers played against Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs during preseason. The team had 2 loses and 2 wins. It wasn’t too good, but it wasn’t a disaster either. They showed up some good players that time and also improvement in comparison with the previous years.

On the other hand, the team seems much better in 2017. This preseason the Packers played against the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins and last week, Denver Broncos.

In the first week, the team played versus Eagles at Lambeau Field. They dominated 90% of the time. The guys recovered the balls, they showed a great understanding of the game and also, they played like they were in the season. Some names that I’d like to highlight are Ty Montgomery, Brett Hundley, Martellus Bennett and the man of the game Justin Vogel. That punt return is in the Packers history – I do believe that.

Packers Draft 2017: their need, picks and my excitement

By Sueli Loiola // @Su_firstavenger

Finally, the season is coming soon, but we’ll have to wait a bit more. This draft 2017 made us dream a little bit more and certainly, we had some impressive surprises from general manager Ted Thompson. Before we start to chat about the picks and our expectations about the NFL Draft at Philadelphia, let’s remember briefly how we left the Green Bay Packers last year.

Packers started the season with a lot of excitement, but once again we had some problems. Players were injured; actually the most important players were out. Some for a short term and others a long one. Also, It wasn’t the best Aaron Rodgers’ season at all. His leadership and ability was questioned.

After a dark period, Aaron came up and shared a message for all Packers fans “Let’s run the table”. Like a miracle, the Packers weren’t the same and Aaron recovered his confidence. At least now the fans were more confident in the team. So, things started to happen and then, they were in the NFC Championship game. The fans were very pleased and confident, Packers could get to Super Bowl. The team finally had a great chance, once again. Unfortunately, the Atlanta Falcons were on their way and the dream was gone.

The season finished for us, but it was just for a moment. The team, coaches, GM and so on needed to stop and think what was good and what went wrong during the season. Also, they urgently needed to make this next season better than the last one. They let go some players such as Eddie Lacy and TJ Lang for example. The Packers should think strategically about what their needs are for this moment. Continue reading “Packers Draft 2017: their need, picks and my excitement”
