There has been a lot of wheeling and dealing this week! The San Francisco 49ers have a new quarterback in Jimmy Garrapolo, running back Jay Ajayi is now with the Philadelphia Eagles and wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is now with the Buffalo Bills! For some teams, this bye week is a welcome time of rest and rejuvenation.
Now there are six teams on a bye deserving some much needed rest: Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
So without further ado…
Kate’s Quarterback Picks:
Replaceing starters such as Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisburger and Phillip Rivers
Tyrod Taylor – Jets defense allows tons of yardage so the Bills should continue to roll along.
Jacoby Brissett – facing Houston Texans, they’ll be behind early and have to throw the ball. He is considered a sleeper but he will be leaning heavily on his tight ends.
Matt Stafford – Something about Green Bay makes Stafford better – he’s got 16 TDs at Lambeau Field in just six games played there
Sit out Jameis Winston as he is been inconsistent, Cam Newton is an uncertainty week-to-week. Atlanta will use this game to bounce back. Josh McCown has been real good the past few weeks but will struggle against a good Bills defense.
Wanda’s Wide Reciever Picks:
HOU Will Fuller – He has been a fantasy owners dream since coming back from his suspension. He will be again against the Indianapolis Colts defense.
KC Tyreek Hill -He has been my fantasy nightmare! Only twice this season has he put up decent numbers. However, the Dallas Cowboys have struggled in the pass defense and have allowed 9 TDs.
DET Golden Tate – His return last week put up some pretty good numbers. Roll with him against the Green Bay Packers who have a hard time stopping him at every meeting.
Sit out – PHI Alshon Jeffery – Coming off of a fantastic week and one of his best games this season, the Denver Broncos will not be so giving. Oakland’s Amari Cooper is such an up and down player for fantasy owners it would be risky to play him. Also sit out Jordy Nelson against the Lions on Monday Night without Aaron Rogers.
Kate’s Running Back Starts:
DAL Alfred Morris – Zeke starting to serve his suspension – finally – so Morris will see a ton of touches.
GB Aaron Jones – fresh and relaxed after their Bye Week, Brett Hundley will have to rely on Jones for yardage
ARI Adrian Peterson – this has to be the week AP gets his fantasy greatness back vs 49ers weak defense.
Sit out – Jay Ajayi – between the rumored bad knees and the new environment, I don’t see him being productive yet. Ameer Abdullah really isn’t blossoming in the Detroit Lions offense and hasn’t hit 100 yards in a game this season, plus Packers defense will keep running to a minimum. As for Joe Mixon, Jacksonville has only allowed one good runner this season. They’ll easily keep Mixon under control
Kate’s Tight End Starts:
LAR Tyler Higbee – Gronk on a Bye? Grab Higbee off waivers. NY Giants have given TE’s a touchdown every week.
WAS Vernon Davis – yeah, he’s on the old side but with Jordan Reed out with a hamstring Injury, Cousins will be looking to Davis for help vs Seattle Seahawks
NYJ Austin Seferian-Jenkins – I know I said to sit McCown, but the Bills defense has one weakness – Tight Ends. They’ve given up big points at that position in the last few weeks and, when NY Jets get behind, McCown will find ASJ.
SIT OUT New Orleans Saints have been running the ball early which doesn’t leave a lot of room for the tight end Coby Fleener. He’s scored around 12 PPR points total over the past five weeks. While Stafford will do well vs Packers, Eric Ebron keeps falling farther down the depth chart as far as snaps / targets go. Also Martellus Bennett has produced zero touchdowns for the Packers this year…. Bench him.
Wanda’s Starts for Kickers and Defense:
Start- Will Lutz versus Buccaneers and Justin Tucker versus Titans.
SIT OUT –Brandon McManus versus the Eagles and Giorgio Tavecchio versus Dolphins
Start Jacksonville Jaguars versus Cincinnati Bengals. This will be an all out cat fight but the meal will be on Andy Dalton. Also starting the Eagles against Brock Osweiler who hasn’t been under center will be painful.
SIT OUT –NY Giants against the LA Rams. Jared Goff has been able to get through defenses since Sean McVay took over. Also sit out the Kansas City Chiefs against the Dallas Cowboys as Dak Prescott and company will keep the Chiefs scrambling.
