Have you often wondered what the hype is all about? Do friends disappear from your life a few months every fall? Is it coincidence? That’s when the NFL season starts.
Well, we are here to help! Below are quick steps to get you feeling comfortable during the NFL season, which kicks off Thursday, September 7 and ends the season with the final BIG game, Super Bowl, happening February 4, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Do you live in a city that has an NFL team? If so, being a ‘homer’ is the best choice.
If not, do you have a favorite city out of the 32 NFL teams? Then choose that team.
Arizona, Atlanta, Baltimore, Buffalo, Carolina (Charlotte), Chicago, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Los Angeles (has 2 teams), Miami, Minnesota (Minneapolis), New England (Boston), New Orleans, New York (has 2 teams), Oakland, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Tennessee (Nashville), Washington (DC)
Now, it’s time for some research. Try these:
- watch football movies
- study Football 101 Series: NFLFemale style
- go more in-depth with our Denver Broncos writer
- peruse NFL.com
- try your luck with Week 1 NFL lines
- and follow teams, the league, plus others on twitter, instagram and/or facebook
THIS ONE IS KEY: Start a twitter account if you haven’t already. That’s where sports news and chatting about sports happens.
Finally, go shopping!! Buy your favorite team jersey. If you’ve picked a favorite player get his number on your jersey too.
Next season you might even be ready to tackle joining a Fantasy Football league!
