No, I don’t have a thing for the band Kansas, but it was too good to pass up.

Anytime the Lions have played on national television we’ve all been treated to the facts about how long it’s been since Detroit has had a 100-yard rusher.

Despite the Lions run game woes, most fans (and by most fans, I mean me!) didn’t think that drafting running back Saquon Barkley was going to be IT.  This was a new era for Lions football, and I wanted it to get started on the right foot, not tied down to a rookie running back and having to give up the farm to get him.  I felt that drafting defense in the first round in the 2018 draft was going to be the way to go.

Needless to say, I and other Lions fans were pretty surprised when Commissioner Roger Goodell called out Frank Ragnow, Center, University of Arkansas.  As I was digesting that, I was thinking to myself, “I mean, yeah, you gotta build in the trenches.  But I’d rather build on the other side.  But oh well…In [GM Bob] Quinn I trust, right?”

The Lions Get Their Running Back

After surprising Lions Fans last night by drafting center Frank Ragnow out of Arkansas, the Lions traded up for the first time in the Bob Quinn era.  With, of course, New England.

They drafted Kerryon Johnson out of Auburn…and there was great rejoicing. After years of having a sub-par (and that’s being nice) running game, general manager Bob Quinn is finally addressing it.  After revamping the offensive line, now they add a running back.  Might this be the year that they get a 100-yard rusher?  It’s certainly starting to look that way.
