Chicago Bears 2017 Season Ends in Hope for the Future

Country singer Garth Brooks said it best:

“And now I’m glad I didn’t know, the way it all would end the way it all would go. Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain, but I’d have to miss the dance.”-The Dance

Some people would have preferred to sit out the 2017 season, but something about it intrigued fans to continue watching, cheering and remain loyal.  

Was it the quarterback controversy that would inevitably take place once rookie QB Mitchell Trubisky was drafted?  Even after the Chicago Bears brass had preached that newly signed QB Mike Glennon would be the starter, they tried desperately to stick to their guns but to no avail. It was his performance that lacked the spark needed on offense…or was it?

Kevin White’s Series of Unfortunate Events

This was supposed to be his year. Do or die he was going to prove once and for all he is not a bust. The Chicago Bears 2015 number one draft pick, Kevin White, has been riddled with a series of unfortunate injury events that has swallowed up any NFL career dream he may have had.

With a fractured scapula, he is gone for the season and placed on IR.  What a travesty.

White redshirted in 2010 at Lackawanna College, hoping it would set the stage for a spectacular season. But due to a missed financial aid deadline, he was ineligible. This forced him to sit out the second season. (Event #1) But, he waited patiently and became a sensational senior at West Virginia.
