Dolphins 31 – Bears 28 (OT)

Let me just start out by saying this:  We all knew it wasn’t gonna be easy, but how many knew it would have ended like that??

I could spend 5 pages on stats and tell you all what most of you guys have already read, but I want to focus this article on us, the fans.  Man, the emotions we all go through with these types of games!

First off, lets start at the beginning.  Be honest y’all, did you really think back up quarterback Brock Osweiler was the answer?  I sure didn’t, and I was legit worried.  Then I started to calm down and thought about it some.

The incredible takeaways from a gut-wrenching Bears loss

Wanda Wiedman, Chicago Bears Reporter

It wasn’t supposed to end this way. The Chicago Bears had rallied back in the second half only to end in a gut-wrenching overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins 31-28. Again, it was left to who was the better kicker and yesterday that title belonged to the Dolphins’ Jason Sanders.

This loss hurts deep, real deep. The kind of deep that one loses sleep over because it was right there.

How could the Bears lose to backup quarterback Brock Osweiler again? Osweiler. He now holds a 3-0 record against the Bears.

No need to beat around the bush.  The Dolphins went into the 2018 draft with definite needs.  The 2 most glaring needs being at linebacker and tight end. Not only did they address these needs, they doubled down on them.  They didn’t just take one tight end and linebacker, they took two of each!

Miami started the night off selecting arguably the best safety in college football, Minkah Fitzpatrick out of Alabama.

Dolphins GM Chris Gire had this to say about their new first-round pick:   “Impeccable character. At the end of the day, this guy is a football player, creates turnovers.”

Great intangibles are just part of the package that Fitzpatrick brought as a top-notch prospect. Along with his versatility in the secondary, he’s a high-character player who’s willing to do what it takes to succeed.

“A little different skill set than the other two guys. We’ll see how it will all play out.”
