Eagles 51 – Broncos 23

Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos was a bittersweet victory.   Wait…that’s a lie. It was a pretty SWEET VICTORY!   I really tried to not enjoy it as much as I did, but I couldn’t help myself. I watched every single minute of it.  Let’s be honest, though, it was over by halftime.

The Denver Broncos are my boyfriend’s team and he’s fully aware that the Broncos aren’t playing to their full potential.   All week leading up to this rivalry game, all I heard from him was “Eagles haven’t seen a real defense” (okay, guy),“Carson Wentz will finally see a real defense” (eye roll), and my favorite “Your running backs aren’t going to get more than four yards on my defense” (eye roll plus smirk).

Dolphins vs Chargers: It all comes down to the Kickers

The Miami Dolphins opened their 2017 season against the Los Angeles Chargers with a win using a balanced offensive attack that saw Jay Ajayi grind out 122 yards and newly acquired Quarterback Jay Cutler go for a respectable 24/33 with one touchdown and no interceptions. Taking full advantage of Miami’s outstanding Wide Receiving core that saw former first round pick Davante Parker with four catches for 85 yards.

Rounding off the attack was Dolphins Field Goal kicker Cody Parkey.  After hitting his first three field goal attempts, the Jupiter Florida native hit a crucial fourth field goal from 54 yards with 1:05 to play in the fourth quarter, giving Miami it’s first lead of the game with a 19-17 score.
