After surprising Lions Fans last night by drafting center Frank Ragnow out of Arkansas, the Lions traded up for the first time in the Bob Quinn era. With, of course, New England.
They drafted Kerryon Johnson out of Auburn…and there was great rejoicing. After years of having a sub-par (and that’s being nice) running game, general manager Bob Quinn is finally addressing it. After revamping the offensive line, now they add a running back. Might this be the year that they get a 100-yard rusher? It’s certainly starting to look that way.
Here’s how some of Lions Fans reacted to the pick:
Frank Ragnow and Kerryon Johnson are two of the most physically tough players in this draft class. Clear direction here for the #Lions.
There was an article circling around on social media that I didn’t even bother to read because the title itself was ridiculous. It was something along the lines of the players not sure why Eagles fans would have any doubts about the team’s chances in the playoffs. It’s ridiculous, to me at least, that the players had to respond back to the criticism from the fans.
Players constantly read the negative articles, tweets, and posts from analysts, but having to respond to the fans because of the doubts that have been loudly expressed is kind of insulting. It doesn’t show the appreciation for the hard work this team has put in as a whole.
Five games down, 11 more to go. Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals was definitely one of the easiest, most anxiety-free games I’ve seen in a long time. The Philadelphia Eagles looked flawless.
After a win like this I would usually celebrate pretty much all week until Thursday, when the new week starts and then my focus turns to our next opponent. But seeing as this is a short week for Philadelphia, the high off this win came down early Sunday evening and I hope the Eagles aren’t letting these wins get to their head. It’s only Week 6, there’s a lot of football still to play and this is not the time to underestimate any team.
