NF: Where did you learn about football – When? and from Who?

SS: I was around 9 when I started getting very interested in football.  My mother taught me the basics and my father taught me the strategies of the game.  It became the thing that bonded us together, Sunday football was the father/daughter time.  And are some of my dearest memories of my father.

NF: Priorities of Life – What are your top 3?

SS: 1)  Jesus  2)  My family  3) This one is very hard, many things vie for third place – friends, the causes we support ( fighting human trafficking is a very passionate cause we put time and money into), making memories…

NF: If you had any job in the world – what would it be, and why?

SS: I can’t choose just one, sorry…

I would love to teach the Bible to high school and college students

I would love to work for non-profits who fight human trafficking (IJM or A21)

I would love to write a book

I would love to be a stand-up comic

NF: Where did you learn about football – When? and from Who?

CC: I learned football on my Pop’s knee. He was a semi-pro player, and our family went to football games all the time.  It is woven into the very fibre of my being. We went to high school games on Friday, Tiger Stadium on Saturday and before the New Orleans Saints came into existence, we rooted for the Detroit Lions.

My Dad took us to the first Saints game in Tulane Stadium, and he has been a Saints ticket holder since day one.  He would put two TVs side by side to watch two games at once and have the radio on as well.  He is a wild man when it comes to football.  On Thanksgiving he and my younger brother come over and we watch football all day together.

NF: Where did you learn about football – When? and from Who?

TL: I began to learn about football from watching my father coach a local high school football team.  I was just a kid, about 4 or 5 years old. My father would take care of me on the weekends. In addition to watching him coach I would watch USC football and Rams games with him.

NF: Priorities of Life – What are your top 3?

TL: My top 3 priorities in life are my health, my closest friends and family, and obviously my life revolves around sports (More specifically football).

NF: Where did you learn about football – When? and from Who?

MP: Like so many, I have my dad to thank for making me the sports junkie that I am today. I’ve always enjoyed competition and, when you add that to a “tomboy” personality, a love of sports grew naturally in me. It was something Dad and I had in common, and, since I didn’t have any brothers, we spent a lot of time watching and talking about it together.

Actually, the first sport I fell in love with was not football but baseball. I learned the game from watching it on TV, and by listening to the radio broadcasts of the Detroit Tigers, my dad’s favorite team. My passion for football grew slowly, and not really from watching the NFL—after all, the Buffalo Bills teams of the 70s were not exactly inspiring! It was from watching college football with Dad, specifically Notre Dame football, that I was bitten by the bug.

NF: Priorities of Life – What are your top 3?

MP: I’d have to say my faith in God would be the first priority as I honestly don’t know where I’d be without that. Next would be my family. I am so grateful for my wonderful husband, my three sons and my “special” girl. I hate to think how empty life would be without them. Finally, as a confirmed introvert, I make a point of finding some peace and quiet in each day to enjoy a cup of tea, dark chocolate, and a good book or crossword puzzle. It reminds me to appreciate the simple things in life.
