Whether it’s your first year trying something new or you’re a veteran and managing 5 or more teams, this is an exciting time. Football season is around the corner and it’s time to prepare for ‘The Draft’ of your team.
Once again, at Our Turf Football, we are running five leagues. One on NFL.com and four through Yahoo.com. Three of the leagues are female only and two are coed. There is one each, female only and coed, of $20 buy-in leagues. As of this writing, all leagues are full except for 2 spots available in the female only buy-in league. The defending champs are back and ready to take the top spot once again.
My theory going into the 2017 NFL fantasy football season was to play the numbers. I drafted the highest I could when my turn came, focusing on wide receivers and running backs in the early rounds. Five of our six leagues did not have a kicker on the roster.
Each week, my starters were selected by using the players who had the highest projected stats going into the week’s games. When a player was injured and out for the season, I then replaced said player with the top player available in that position on the league’s list.
The fantasy football league playoffs are looming ever closer. Currently, I stand at 4th place in three leagues and 7th in the other two. I have some work to do. On a high note, at least one of my five teams has been the top point scorer in it’s league most weeks.
As a reminder to new readers, I am going strictly by the projected points each week. If a player has higher stats than the other, in they go to my week’s lineup. The grades after my original draft were all B or higher.
