Eagles Fall to the Saints in Divisional Game

Saints 20 – Eagles 14

What was a promising start for the Philadelphia Eagles ended in tears for the fans of the defending champions. Eagles were up 14-0 going into the second quarter and had everything going their way until quarterback Nick Foles was intercepted and the momentum completely shifted. After that, the Eagles’ defense was too tired to find an answer.

They started off on top converting a turnover into a touchdown. Then later that quarter, Foles hit wide receiver Jordan Matthews for their second and final touchdown of the game. Eagles earned a total of 151 yards and were barely able to add any more.

It’s fair to say Foles threw some questionable passes, either they were overthrown or underthrown. The offense also had trouble converting third downs.

Doug Pederson is writing a book, so what?

Official Philadelphia Eagles Reporter

By Roxaan Herrera // @rxnlzbth

As I’m scrolling through social media last night, trying to catch up on all sorts of the day’s news, I come across a gem of a tweet from Fox Sports’ radio personality Colin Cowherd.

For some reason, he has an issue with Philadelphia Eagles’ head coach, Doug Pederson, writing a book this off-season, Fearless. I’m assuming this book is based on the road to winning the Super Bowl (I’m not sure yet, I haven’t read it) and Cowherd has taken offense to that.

The Eagles Offseason Moves

Official Philadelphia Eagles Reporter

By Roxaan Herrera // @rxnlzbth

So much has happened this month in the NFL world, and the 2018 League Year just began! But if you’re like me, everything else has been put on the back burner whilst you’re stuck reliving Super Bowl LII over and over and over and over again – and that’s perfectly normal.

The world champions – Philadelphia Eagles (that has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?) have been pretty busy as of late and in case you’ve missed out on anything, here’s what’s been going on.

How the Seattle Seahawks defense saved Christmas for their fans

By Shannon Sanchez //@ShannonSanchez3

Seahawks 21 – Cowboys 12

Right before kickoff I quickly listed a few things that I hoped the Seahawks would give to all their fans for Christmas. My list included:
1. Stop the run.
2. Wide receiver Doug Baldwin and tight end Jimmy Graham with quality and successful targets.
3. A clean game for guard Germain Ifedi.
4. A run game of our own.
5. A touchdown on our first offensive possession.

I thought it was a pretty good list.

Seahawks Look For Identity Answers

Shannon Sanchez, Official Seahawks Reporter

By Shannon Sanchez // @ShannonSanchez3

The Seahawks have made news this week. Being one of the more outspoken teams on social issues, players like defensive end Michael Bennet and wide receiver Doug Baldwin could be seen on CNN talking about equality and justice.  The team made strides on this issue by announcing that they are starting a new foundation called Seahawks Players Equality & Justice for All Action Fund “to support education and leadership programs addressing equality and justice.”  Being as outspoken and comfortable as they are in the spotlight, they can highlight their emapthy and outrage as they face the multitude of question on this subject.   Off the field the Seahawks have remained true to what they have always been.

Now, on the field has been a different story.

As the Seahawks get ready to play on Sunday Night Football, some of the painful questions that have come up over the last 3 weeks are still demanding to be answered.  There have been questions about the fabled defense.   Are they getting old? Have they lost their identity?  There were comments made by safety Kam Chancellor calling out the defense after last week’s loss to the Titans, referring to their undisciplined play. The offense has also been put under the microscope: Why is quarterback Russell Wilson inaccurate?  Is it in his head?  Is the O-line ever going to get better?  Where is tight end Jimmy Graham?  Running back Eddie Lacy? Have they lost their identity as a run first team? Where are the big plays?

Seattle Seahawks Painful Questions

By Shannon Sanchez // @shannonsanchez3

Tennesee 33- Seattle 27

This weekend was guaranteed not to be a typical weekend in the NFL.  With the reaction to the harsh comments from President Trump, there was not going to be a business as usual attitude.  From the outset, the game had a different feel, with both teams opting to stay in the locker room for the national anthem.

The defense began the game with performances that we have come to expect.  They forced a three-and-out on the first drive.  Defensive end Michael Bennett and defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson were among many notable participants in shutting down Tennessee.  Then Seattle received the ball on their 20 to start their drive and that is where things began to get interesting.  Seattle went three-and-out with the offensive line getting penalized three times, two holding penalties and one unnecessary roughness all on just one third down play.

From that moment, the game turned into a flag fest and both teams paid dearly.  Tennessee had two touchdowns taken away and Seattle had a key interception by safety Kam Chancellor taken back because of defensive pass interference on cornerback Richard Sherman.  This sparked outrage by Sherman who took off his helmet to continue arguing with the official, and that caused an additional unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that took Tennessee from their 44-yard line to Seattle’s 25-yard line, for a gain of 31 yards.
