Recapping the Eagles first two weeks

After Week 2’s debacle against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Philadelphia Eagles decided they needed to bring starting quarterback Carson Wentz back where he belongs. According to head coach, Doug Pederson, Wentz’s return “wasn’t planned”.  It just so happened that he was medically cleared following a loss that Eagles have only themselves to blame.  We’ll just go with what Pederson says.

Backup QB Nick Foles will forever be able to call Philadelphia home. Fans will undoubtedly be grateful for eternity since he brought the first-ever Lombardi trophy to Philly.  But even a Super Bowl MVP is not immune to the fans’ criticism and Foles has received a lot in these first two games.

CEO Jeffrey Lurie Explains Making of the Super Bowl Ring

Official Philadelphia Eagles Reporter

By Roxaane Herrera // @rxnlzbth

There’s no denying that the owners of any professional sports team genuinely loves their team. They invest in their team, they market their team, they are proud of their team and they stand behind their team even through the darkest of times.

But since I’ve only followed one CEO, one chairman, for the past 15 years, I think it’s safe to say that Philadelphia Eagles owner, Jeffrey Lurie, takes the cake. I can prove it by how much effort he put into designing the Super Bowl LII championship rings. Read on to find out the amount of love he poured into each and every one.

The Eagles Offseason Moves

Official Philadelphia Eagles Reporter

By Roxaan Herrera // @rxnlzbth

So much has happened this month in the NFL world, and the 2018 League Year just began! But if you’re like me, everything else has been put on the back burner whilst you’re stuck reliving Super Bowl LII over and over and over and over again – and that’s perfectly normal.

The world champions – Philadelphia Eagles (that has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?) have been pretty busy as of late and in case you’ve missed out on anything, here’s what’s been going on.

NFC Champions: Philadelphia Eagles!

Official Philadelphia Eagles Reporter

By Roxaane Herrera // @rxnlzbth

RESULT: Eagles – 38       Vikings – 7

Sunday night’s game could not have gone any better for the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Nick Foles threw for 352 yards, completing 26 passes of 33 with three touchdowns AND had a QB rating of 141.1 by the end of the game.

That’s the Eagles’ backup quarterback, by the way. The same guy who everyone wrote off, including (some) fans. The same guy who everyone doubted and quickly turned away from and refused to take seriously.

Last night, Foles played the best game of his career and despite a shaky and inconsistent first few games as Carson Wentz’s backup, he came through when the team needed him the most and did so beautifully.

NFC championship game preview

Official Eagles Reporter

By Roxaane Herrera//@rxnlzbth

Both NFC divisional games were the edge of your seat entertaining. It was heartbreaking for the Saints.  Neither team lost by a mile, neither lost embarrassingly, neither lost because of mistakes (well, that can be subjective, I guess).  Both teams played great football and did everything they could to win. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough and now we are near the end of a spectacular season.

I mean, who predicted the Jacksonville Jaguars would actually make it this far?

Still not over the win

Eagles 15 – Falcons 10

What. A. Game! I admit I shed a few tears out of sheer relief after that game.  It was such an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end.

Not to be a negative Nancy, but I have to point out the obvious.  Playing like he did the first half, quarterback Nick Foles, will not be able to get away with that against the Minnesota Vikings. Luckily, the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense came through and it resulted in a win.

Eagles Are Taking It One Game At A Time

Eagles- 10     Seahawks- 24

All week, I was anxious about this game. I knew it would be tough to play against Seattle in Seattle.  I just figured it would be more competitive, or at the very least a fun game to watch. As frustrating as it was, though, I’m okay with this loss.  Eagles needed to face a playoff caliber team; a team who was desperate for a win, in order to get experience in that type of environment.
