Pittsburgh Steelers 41 – Atlanta Falcons 17
On a game that the Steelers “had” to have in this early season, they didn’t disappoint. While the Falcons have been rather lackluster this season, the Steelers have been inconsistent. What looked like would be a very tight game, turned into a pretty commanding win for the Steelers.
Wide receiver Antonio Brown was his usual self and had 6 catches for 101 yards. Brown also had 2 touchdowns. Running back James Conner also had himself a game. He was running, he was catching, and he was scoring!
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger did have an interception at the end of the half to keep the game interesting. However, they scored a touchdown on their next three possessions coming out of halftime which pretty much sealed the deal against the Falcons.
The icing on the cake was a sack on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan by linebacker TJ Watt that resulted in a fumble. The Steelers were then able to score their final touchdown of the game. Always good to see the Steelers defense have a big play.
The Steel Deal: This week, the honor will go to James Conner. He had 21 carries for 110 yards and scored 2 rushing touchdowns. He also had 4 catches for 75 yards. While Steelers fans were wondering about the running back position and RB Le’Veon Bell, Conner has gone about his business.
The 2nd year player has been a little bit of a boom/bust player so far this year, but in the games where he’s had over 60 yards rushing, the Steelers have won. If Conner continues the path he’s going, the Steelers may have a big decision to make when Bell does come back.

Not The Steel Deal: This was a hard decision this week. It’s like when you got As in all your classes, but one that you got a B+ in? That’s how I feel about this game. Everyone played their roles well, including the defense that looked much better this week. While they looked a little shaky at the beginning of the game, they tightened up once the Steelers had the lead.
Next week the Steelers go on the road to play their division rival Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals are coming off of a come from behind win against the Miami Dolphins. Will Pittsburgh still be able to put together a complete game? Will we see the first half Cincinnati Bengals, or the second half Cincinnati Bengals. Either way, it’s a division game, and those, especially in the AFC North are always great.
