Chicago Bears 34 – Detroit Lions 22
The Lions traveled today to take on the 1st place Chicago Bears. I must admit, as the season has gone on, I felt that the Lions dominance of the Bears was going to end but I thought that the Lions could at least put up a fight. They didn’t.
One good thing about this week was quarterback Matthew Stafford was sacked only 6 times! An improvement from last weeks 10 sacks. Aside from quarterback play, the defense wasn’t too much better. Let me clarify: the run defense was good, the rest was not. No pressure on QB Mitchell Trubisky, and there was blown coverages throughout the secondary.
However, the Bears averaged 2.5 yards per carry and only rushed for 54 yards total. They were able to hold running back Jordan Howard to just 21 yards rushing. Shout out to defensive tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison for keeping Chicago’s run game at bay.
A couple of other positives for the Lions were rookie RB Kerryon Johnson and wide receiver Kenny Golladay both had a decent game despite the loss. Golladay was 6/13 for 78 yards and a touchdown, while Johnson rushed for 51 yards and also had a touchdown.
The Lions get a chance to right the ship next week as they play host to the Carolina Panthers and quarterback Cam Newton. That isn’t going to be an easy task, despite the fact that the Panthers are coming off a nasty loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. If the Lions can’t get to Newton, it’s going to be a very long day again.
Now, on to the reactions: Once you started to see how the game was going to go, it became more entertaining to see the Twitter reaction from Detroit Lions Twitter. A passionate group, of course. But watching the game with these fans is always a good way to entertain yourself when it gets too bad! Here are some of the more entertaining ones that I found.
The Detroit Lions. Wins against teams led by football legends Brady, Rodgers and Brock Osweiler. Losses to everyone else.

All this losing will just make it that much sweeter when the Detroit Lions win the Super Bowl in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

And probably my favorite tweet from today:
