Hi, Bears Fans!

Congrats!  For my NFC North article this week, I’m dedicating it to you and your team.  Now, as a Lions fan, I’m going to be good, and not give you too hard of a time, but I may slip just a little. So, forgive me in advance, but it’s all in good rivalry fun.  I can’t say too much though. At least your team has won a Super Bowl.

But you guys, I am confused. What’s up with your quarterback, Mitch Trubisky?  Or as I affectionately like to call him, Mr. Buiscut.  I (sort of) feel bad for you.

Yes, I along with many others, laughed when your team traded up to get him in the 2017 draft. He had a typical rookie season, he showed promise, etc. Then came 2018 and you traded for linebacker Khalil Mack.  I was admittedly, as the kids like to say…shook.  The chances of the Lions sweeping the Bears got a little slimmer, not totally gone, but slimmer.

Then Trubisky had the nerve to completely ball out and your defense was lights out.  As much as it pained me to admit it, in 2018 the Bears were better than the Lions, and Trubisky was young.  It could be like that for a long time. But then 2019 happened, and your quarterback is looking quite pedestrian, and I’m being nice. Surprisingly, or maybe not so, he got benched last game.

So, tell me Bears fans. What happened? Who do we look to for answers? Head coach Matt Nagy? Should he stop calling plays? Ryan Pace, your GM? It seems like no one really knows how to move forward. Trubisky also looks timid, and at times, lost.

I’m slightly becoming nervous about your team. (Just a little bit. I would love to get a win on Thanksgiving) You guys know your struggles, so I’m not going to repeat them all. However, it seems like the whole team needs a shakeup. The other thing that makes me concerned for you is that you don’t really have a lot of picks to build up your team in the immediate future. Your team gave up a lot of picks between Trubisky and Mack and going forward, it could be an issue.

I’m wondering if there’s going to be a major change in this offseason for your team?  I’m sure you guys are as well.

Don’t feel too badly though, Bears Fan. This year, the Lions made Trubisky look like a Super Bowl contender, and they just may do it again when they meet up on Thanksgiving.  So you at least have that to look forward to!
