The NFL has released the 2019 regular season schedule, and it’s almost time for the Rams to defend their status as NFC Champions.
It’s not the easiest start to the season.
Almost immediately, the Rams have to face their newest big rival as the New Orleans Saints make the trip to LA.
Then, just the next week there’s a second road game with the Cleveland Browns, who have made some incredible pick-ups during this offseason. The Rams haven’t faced the Browns since 2015, but they won that game mightily, coming off with a 24-6 win.
In week 5, the Rams visit the Seattle Seahawks, another rough early in the season matchup. It’s also a game in a short week for Los Angeles, after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game just four days prior. While the Rams should easily take the game against the Bucs, I’d like to have had a bit more rest time before facing the Seahawks. For now? I’ll take a SMALL bit of comfort knowing that the last time the Rams took on the Seahawks, they won.
The last game before bye week is in London! I like London games only because I wake up really early and it’s nice to have a good football game to watch at 10 am on a Sunday morning.

After the bye, I’m confident the Rams can win their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers – I wasn’t all that impressed with Pitt last season, and without wide receiver Antonio Brown, it should be an easy win. After that they have two home games and you know me! I always have more confidence in home games.
However, the first one is against the NFC North champion Chicago Bears. While I have to admit: I haven’t been following the Bears’ moves this offseason, if the team this year is anything like last seasons, this looks like a tough game. And don’t forget, the Bears won last season when they played our Rams.
Nevertheless, that game will be INTENSE! Jared Goff and Mitchell Trubisky are both young quarterbacks who played at their peak last season. Then you’ve got the matchups of running backs Todd Gurley and Tarik Cohen, and perhaps the biggest of all – the league’s BEST pass rushers, defensive tackle Aaron Donald and outside linebacker Khalil Mack. At least this game won’t be in Chicago’s freezing tundra! Small silver lining?
Monday Night Football in the Coliseum follows, as the Rams welcome the Baltimore Ravens, and I’d like to call that game in the Rams favor.
From there, we look ahead to the playoffs! December brings two games against the Arizona Cardinals. They’ll be looking to make it five wins in a row against the Cardinals. The Ram’s have easily taken the last four games visiting Arizona. In between those two games, Los Angeles faces the Seahawks again, but at home.
The next matchups are road games against the NFC East Champions, the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. The game in San Francisco has a flex option and could be played on a Saturday or Sunday. I wouldn’t mind an extra day of football if they end up playing on December 21st! We will need to win those two games to keep playing post regular season.
Which games do YOU predict the Rams will win?
