NFC East: the round up

If you’re anything like me, you’re doing a Fortnite dance because we’ve finally made it to game 4 of the preseason!!

But even though we’re at the last week of the preseason, some questions still need to be answered, and that couldn’t be any truer than in the NFC East.

Let’s go around the division and see what questions still need answers!

The Dallas Cowboys

If you haven’t been paying attention, there’s a little contract issue going on with one of their running backs, Ezekiel Elliot.  The sides still haven’t seemed to move too much, however, Cowboys management feels very confident that a deal will get done, and Elliot will be ready to go for the season.  That remains the biggest question heading into the season.  In last weeks game, however, it was the defense that made quite a statement.  The defense shut out the Texans to the tune of 34-0.  If this carries into the regular season, the Cowboys for sure will be a force to reckon with.

Washington Redskins

Their biggest question was who would be starting at quarterback for week 1. That question got answered when head coach Jay Gruden announced earlier this week that Case Keenum will be their starter. But Dwayne Haskins will be getting the start of the final preseason game.  Should he play well, expect the quarterback question to linger into the season. The other question that is on the minds in Washington is the hold out with left tackle Trent Williams. As of now, the thought is he won’t get traded, but you never know.

New York Giants

The Giants have a few questions to answer this season. Overall, how well will the Giants do this year, especially after having WR Golden Tate missing 4 games due to suspension AND their quarterbacking situation?  But another question will be linebacker B.J. Goodson.  While most of the defense will be set, there is a question if Goodson is going to be a good fit for what defensive coordinator James Bettcher wants to do.  He’s definitely on the bubble going into this last game. We will see how the Giants will answer that question.

Philadelphia Eagles

Fortunately, there aren’t too many questions with the Eagles. Perhaps one that has come up within the past day or so has been interest in a possible trade for Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Though he’s been rumored to go to several places including the Dolphins and Seahawks, the Eagles have come up on that list as well.

Now, let’s see how many of these questions get answered after these last preseason games!
