This is it, people.  The regular season is right around the corner!

We’re done with the dress rehearsal, and now it’s onto the last game of the preseason where we watch those trying to make the team.

Let’s go around the division, recap last week and see what’s going on with the teams heading into the last week of preseason games.

Detroit Lions

Lions fans are probably wanting the week 3 preseason game against the Bills back. They lost 2 starters in that game, linebacker Jarrad Davis, and center Frank Ragnow. Both are two former first-round draft picks. Thankfully, these weren’t season-ending injuries, but enough to make you think that the LA Rams are doing something right.

Fans also got their first look at quarterback Matthew Stafford, who looked pretty comfortable in the offense. But it was rookie tight end TJ Hockenson that really impressed. Looking for some great things from him this season. Next up, the Lions take on the Cleveland Browns in the preseason finale.

Minnesota Vikings

And yes, in case you’re wondering, I can’t type Minnesota Vikings without thinking about Lizzo. Meanwhile, the Vikings hosted the Cardinals this past weekend. They came away with the win, despite QB Kirk Cousins having a very lackluster performance. He went 3 for 13 for a whopping 35 yards. Yes, it is just the preseason, and yes,  he was without wide receiver Adam Thielen, but you sort of were expecting a little more.

A bigger bright spot was running back Dalvin Cook, who scored on an 85-yard run.  Hopefully, he will continue to shine bright in this offense. The Vikings will take on the Bills in their week 4 game. Keep an eye on the kickers in this one!

Green Bay Packers

Packers fans understood why the Rams sat their starters in week 3. This past week against the Raiders, the Packers had their first-round draft pick, linebacker Rashan Gary, injure his head/neck area making a tackle. He was able to walk off the field but did need to be taken via cart to the locker room. Thankfully he was back at practice on Monday and was ready to go.

Also, WR Equanimeous St. Brown had a leg injury in that game. The Packers are also tweaking their roster some as the last preseason game approaches. They’ve released safeties Josh Jones and Mike Tyson, but have signed cornerback Jackson Porter. They are looking to Raven Greene to add some depth to their secondary. The Packers will face the Chiefs in their final preseason game.

Chicago Bears

The Bears played the Colts this past weekend in Indy. It was a pretty routine game and nothing major happened. Head coach Matt Nagy followed the lead of Sean McVey in LA and sat the starters, which after looking around the league, was a brilliant idea.

Following the shocking announcement about QB Andrew Luck’s retirement, the game really seemed not to matter. The Bears did lose offensive tackle TJ Clemmings for the season due to an injured quad.  Alex Bars, an undrafted rookie, however, was able to step in and impressed coach Nagy in the process. The Bears will host the Titans to wrap up the preseason.
