No, this isn’t going to be a diatribe on why Cris Collinsworth is awful, nor will it be a diatribe on why he’s amazing. Collinsworth’s catchphrase is what came to my mind when I thought about Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Now here’s a guy who gets it. He just does. He’s one of the younger players in the NFL and he works hard!
Crazy to have Coach Belichick, a legendary coach I’ve watched my whole life, come up to me after the game and tell me he respects my game and how I play!!! ?????

And has fun while doing it.
When it’s 11:59 PM and you barely get the final paper in by 12!!! ??? ? pic.twitter.com/PJT19aFFR6

Yes, I know Smith-Schuster had a costly mistake at the end of the game yesterday, and I’m sure he feels bad about it and will improve. But one thing he said late last week sort of stuck out to me. On Saturday he tweeted the following:
A lot on the line this week. The whole season comes down to this. Yes, I’m talking about the fantasy football championship round. Of course I’m playing Sunday!!! Theres no way I can let down the real ones who believed in me by drafting me!! Let’s get it!! ?? pic.twitter.com/6YntwS4lpD

*Full disclosure* I have Smith-Schuster on my fantasy team in our OG OurTurf League. While that statement made me as a fantasy owner happy, it also made me happy for another reason. He embraces that fantasy part of the game.
To be clear, I’m not one for people tweeting players when they have a bad game or even worse if they get injured. That really irritates me. Players really aren’t here for just your fantasy team. BUT…the fact that Smith-Schuster at least acknowledged that people want him to play, for championship implications, lets us know that he understands. And as a fan, I appreciate that.
I also appreciate Rams running back CJ Anderson asking people to donate some of their winnings to his Dreams Never Die Foundation.
Good for these guys and the others like them that are out there.
You are very much appreciated!
