What a game ladies and gentlemen! I suppose the Packers like to have some emotion and it doesn’t matter what time of the season it is. All us Packer Fans clearly remember the last two seasons. The Packers tend to not have good starts to the regular season. The season really gets started for the Packers after the fourth week. It’s almost like the first games are an extended preseason.
After those first four games, something happens and the team gets stronger and more confident on the field. All the players showed a sort of excitement, confidence and a different spirit during the game, training and the whole league. I know that nobody in Lambeau stops believing in a victory before the game has finished. And I believe that is what happened yesterday.
The Packers got off to a slow start. The Bengals were dominating the game in the first and second quarter. The Packers defense was making it easy on the Bengals. So, the Bengals took advantage of the Packers mistakes.
Then, the reaction. After the interception and an almost sack, the Green Bay’s team showed who they really are. Wide receiver Jordy Nelson was impressive during the second quarter. He had 2 touchdowns and 52 yards. Tight end Lance Kendricks had a day as well. Kendricks had 3 catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. But quarterback Aaron Rodgers will always do A-Rod type stuff. He’s not the King of the North for nothing. Everybody thought that Aaron made a lot of mistakes during the game, but he impressed us with that 72 yard pass to wide receiver Geronimo Allison. That gorgeous pass made the game. It was 72 yards of perfection that was a gift for all Packers fans.
Paraphrasing the best band in the land, Bon Jovi, (who had an incredible show in Rio and São Paulo) I’d say to Aaron ‘You were born to be my baby’.
Right now, the Packers are 2-1 and in a three-way tie with the Vikings and Lions for 1st place. Next up, the Packers welcome the Chicago Bears to Lambeau Field.
