The Bills are moving on in the playoffs.

I’m keeping you guys on your toes. I usually am writing about the NFC East or the NFC North. Because it’s the playoffs, I decided to switch it up and venture to the AFC side of the League, to talk about the Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts Wild Card game.

After quarterback Tom Brady left the division in the offseason, I don’t think anyone was happier than the Buffalo Bills to see him leave. With Brady out of the division, it was pretty much a given that they would win the AFC East, at least on paper.

Despite the Miami Dolphins having a pretty successful year, the Bills finished 13-3 and got to host their first playoff game in 25 years. They were even given permission to allow a “small” amount of fans to come and cheer on their Bills. The Colts, on the other hand, finished their division tied with the Tennessee Titans with an 11-5 record. Quietly, rookie running back Jonathan Taylor lead the way with over 1,000 rushing yards.

After successful seasons by both teams, only fitting that they would end up opening up Wild Card weekend.

But….you know how sometimes there are signs that teams are destined for something pretty great?

The Bills could be that team.  Whenever something like this happens:

You know it’s something special.

QB Josh Allen has been spectacular all season, and today was no different. He made some incredible plays and some even better decisions.  He finished the game with 324 yards, 2 passing TDs, and 1 rushing touchdown.  I’m fine with saying he’s much better than I thought he would be when he was drafted.  I was wrong! (Apologies Bills Mafia!)

Speaking of WR Stefon Diggs, this was his first time playing in front of the Bills fans. He was able to play catch with some fans in the stands pregame. He also made some spectacular catches and had 128 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.

This team is loose and having fun, but still feel that there is more work to be done. The Bills need to clean up some defensively as the Colts were able to come back and make this a game towards the end. But outside of that, if Allen continues to lead this team, they could make a very deep run in these playoffs!
