Week 12 is in the books for the NFC North.
The Vikings had a bye, the Bears won, and both the Lions and Packers lost. Yet another lackluster week for a division that I’m reporting on. I think maybe the universe is telling me something. I digress.
But just like in the NFC East, despite the fact that only 1 team won a game, there were still some players that performed well. Come with me as I head around the division to find out who were the top performers.
Let’s start with the Packers. Green Bay headed out west to take on a white-hot San Fransisco 49ers team. This was supposed to be a really great match-up, but all it really told us was that the 49ers are here to stay. And good for them. But despite that, we’re going to go defense for the Packers player. A name that Packers fans are very familiar with: linebacker Za’Darius Smith. He had 6 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for a loss. He’s been a beast this year.
Zadarius Smith is starting to be a problem for the 49ers tonight

Next, heading over to the Detroit Lions who lost a heartbreaker (can we really even call it that at this point into the season?) to Washington. After it looked like a blow out was coming, running back Bo Scarbrough made his presence known in the 2nd half. He got fed. He almost had 100 yards rushing. He didn’t score a touchdown but had 18 carries for 98 yards. He alone gave the Lions hope that they could pull this game off, but their defense wasn’t able to stop Washington. **Aside, can I admit something? I didn’t realize that the Lions have lead in every single game they’ve played this season, but their record is 3-7-1.**

And last, but not least, the Bears (Minnesota had a bye this week, don’t forget). They beat the New York Giants and that was a much-needed win for the Monsters of the Midway. This week, we’ll give the honor to wide receiver Allen Robinson. He had 6 catches for a season-high 131 yards and a touchdown. The Bears fans are hoping to see more of this the rest of the season.
Here is a great throw from Mitch Trubisky against the Giants. After the fake handoff, he steps up and delivers a perfect ball to Allen Robinson in stride, which has been something Trubisky has struggled to do. Also, the route by Robinson is spectacular. Need to see more of this. pic.twitter.com/PQM2wH85Wz

So, how did I do? Do you agree, or nah?
