The Seahawks Play A Complete Game

Seahawks 24 – Eagles 10

This is arguably the most complete game that the Seahawks have played this year.  From the opening drive, the game seemed to go in favor of the Seahawks.  The offense was led by quarterback Russell Wilson who once again turned into a wizard.  He was scrambling his way out of would-be sacks and finding receivers like tight end Jimmy Graham for the 9th time in 8 games.

Wide receiver Tyler Lockett and running back J.D. McKissic were the other two targets in the end zone.  Amongst the offensive highlights was the controversial lateral thrown from Wilson to running back Mike Davis.  And yet, Philadelphia did not challenge that play and so the offense continued on to score.

The defense was stellar.  Once again linebacker Bobby Wagner was the heartbeat seemingly in on every stop as well as safety Bradley McDougald  There were heroic highlights from defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson who forced a fumble in the end zone from Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

Defensive end Frank Clark had two sacks and corner Byron Maxwell came up with an end zone interception.  But as a team, the defense held the Eagles offense to 10 points.  This had not been done to the Eagles this season, the fewest points they had scored before tonight was 20.  That came against the Chiefs on September 17th.

Coming into this game, the Seahawks were 6 point underdogs.  Given the fact that Seattle has struggled against weaker opponents, the concern over this game seemed to be justified.   Once again, the Seahawks proved that they play their best football late in the season.   And, once again, the Seahawks perform their best in prime time.  As linebacker KJ Wright has said, “Don’t sleep on us!”

Along with an incredible game,  several Seahawks participated in My Cause, My Cleats campaign.  Click here to find out who Frank Clark, along with who his teammates supported for the My Cause, My Cleats.
