Week 4 in the NFC North

Well, the division was 3-1 this past weekend, with the only loss being the Minnesota Vikings.  The Vikings look to get their first win this week, and the rest of the division looks to keep up with their winning ways.  Here we go around the division to see how they’ll fare in week 4.

Let’s start with the 0-3 Minnesota Vikings.  After a scare with the Coronavirus this week after having playing Tennesee, the Vikings will travel down to Houston to take on the 0-3 Houston Texans.

It seems both teams are getting used to their offseason moves. The Vikings getting used to playing without wide receiver Stefon Diggs, and the Texans without WR DeAndre Hopkins. And so far, neither team is better for it.

I’m going to have to take the Texans in this game for 2 reasons.  Quarterback play (Sorry, I just have never really trusted Kirk Cousins) and the Houston defense.

Next up, the Detroit Lions, who got their first win since October 2019, and on the road no less. They will be welcoming in the New Orleans Saints to Ford Field.

This is always a fun game, especially when you get to watch the two veteran QBs in Matthew Stafford and Drew Brees. The Saints are hoping to welcome back WR Michael Thomas to the field after a high ankle sprain. The Lions, on the other hand, are going to lean on WR Kenny Golladay, and have given 1st string running back duties to Adrian Peterson.

It’s all going to come down to the Lions defense being able to stop the high powered Saints offense. They will have their hands full, no doubt, but I think this game could go either way. So, I’m not picking a winner!

It’s been an eventful week for the 3-0 Chicago Bears. They have named QB Nick Foles the starter, and have placed RB Tarik Cohen on IR for a torn ACL. I think if the Bears are going to get to 4-0, they’re going to have to get off to a great start in their game.

In their last 2 games, they’ve had to do some last-minute heroics to get the win. Now that Foles has been named the starter, hopefully, they’ll be able to take a quick lead and maintain it. So, it’ll be an interesting game to keep an eye on.

This will be the first team that Chicago will face that has a winning record, so they could present a challenge.

Last but not least, the 3-0 Green Bay Packers. As our writer Lucy Rendler-Kaplan said in her latest article, it looks like quarterback Aaron Rodgers is back. This week, they have the pleasure of welcoming the 0-3 Atlanta Falcons to Green Bay.

This could be another win for the Packers, especially with the way the Falcons have played of late. But they will be without linebacker Christian Kirksey, who leads the team with 27 tackles.  It’ll be a good game, but I’m expecting the Packers to come away with the victory.
